Banner or Hero sliders are generally weaker web design because they:
- Dilute the main message: several competing messages instead of one clear priority.
- Get ignored: many users treat rotating banners like ads.
- Reduce usability: content moves before users finish reading or interacting.
- Perform poorly: multiple large images/scripts can hurt loading speed and Core Web Vitals.
- Create accessibility issues: motion, focus, controls, timing and screen-reader behaviour need extra care.
- Have low interaction after slide 1: later slides often receive very little attention.
- Can hurt conversions: one strong hero with one clear CTA is usually easier to understand and act on.
In most cases, a single static hero with a strong heading, supporting text, image and clear CTA is the better choice.
